Trunking hides the pipework running from indoor to outdoor unit. This isn't included in the guide price below — if your property needs it, we'll quote it separately as an option once we've seen the pipe run at survey.
Most homes need a dedicated fused spur near the outdoor unit. If you don't already have a suitable outdoor power socket, we can install one — electrical work is charged from £175.00, subject to survey.
Labour includes running copper pipe and the condensate drain pipe. If the pipe run has to go uphill — commonly into a loft before heading outside — a condensate pump is needed to lift the water. We fit the Aspen Silent+ Mini Lime, a near-silent pump ideal for bedrooms and other noise-sensitive rooms. Fitting also includes a one-way (non-return) valve.
Wall-mounted units sit on galvanised steel brackets fixed to the wall. Floor-standing units sit on anti-vibration rubber feet or blocks to reduce noise and protect the surface underneath.

Find out more →Sizing is the part most quotes get wrong. Undersize the unit and it runs flat out and never reaches temperature; oversize it and it short-cycles, which costs more to run and wears the compressor out early.
The calculator above sizes on room volume rather than floor area, because a tall room needs more capacity than a standard-height one of the same footprint. It allows 0.065 kW per cubic metre, then steps up to the next unit in the Haier range. For a typical 2.4 m ceiling that works out as follows.
