Haier 2.5kW heat pump for a Towcester master bedroom
This large detached house in Towcester now has a Haier 2.5kW wall-mounted heat pump in the master bedroom. It keeps the room cool on warm summer nights, when upstairs bedrooms in bigger houses tend to hold the heat, and warms it quickly on cold mornings in winter.

How we fitted it
- Survey. We checked the bedroom size and confirmed a 2.5kW unit would comfortably cool and heat it.
- Indoor unit. Fixed high on the bedroom wall, where it runs quietly and spreads the air evenly.
- Outdoor unit. Mounted on a wall bracket high on the outside wall, keeping it off the ground and out of the way.
- Pipework and drain. Run in black trunking beside the existing black downpipe so it blends into the house, with the condensate drain taken into the downpipe.
- Pressure test and commissioning. The pipework was pressure tested and vacuumed before the refrigerant was released, then heating and cooling were both tested and the Haier app set up, by an F-Gas certified engineer.
Why a bedroom unit makes sense
In a large house, heating or cooling the whole property to get one room comfortable is wasteful. A single heat pump in the master bedroom deals with that room on its own: cool at night in summer, warm in the morning in winter, set from a remote or the Haier app. More about bedroom air conditioning.
