Every system we install is a reversible heat pump: the same indoor and outdoor unit pair cools a room in summer and heats it in winter, so it isn't a single-season purchase. Sizing is done room by room, not house by house — a single split system is sized to one room's floor area, glazing, insulation and orientation, while a multi-split system pairs several correctly sized indoor units to a shared outdoor unit. Undersizing leaves a room struggling on hot days; oversizing causes short-cycling, which is noisier and less efficient. Noise and indoor unit positioning

Modern wall-mounted indoor units run quietly at normal settings, and most have a dedicated quiet or night mode that reduces fan speed further. Positioning matters as much as the unit's spec sheet: we avoid mounting directly above a bed headboard or a desk chair where possible, and we route airflow away from where people sit or sleep for most of the day.

Outdoor unit and pipe-routing considerations

The outdoor unit needs a stable, ventilated position with enough clearance for airflow — typically a wall bracket, ground pad, or flat roof area. For multi-room installations we plan pipe runs before quoting, since longer runs or awkward routes (through multiple floors, or externally around a building) affect both the price and how the pipework is concealed. Trunking to hide visible pipe runs is priced separately so you can see exactly what you're paying for.
