Air Conditioning Bicester: Installation, Heating & Servicing

Bicester has expanded rapidly with developments like Bicester Village's surrounding estates, NW Bicester (Elmsbrook) and the wider Bicester Garden Town growth, so a good share of our aircon enquiries here come from newer-build homes. As with any new-build, it's worth checking your NHBC or developer warranty for any conditions around fixing equipment to an external wall before booking — we're happy to talk through ground-mounted alternatives if that's a concern.

Away from the newer estates, Bicester's older streets and the historic town centre bring more typical retrofit installs, similar in scope to our Buckingham and Aylesbury jobs.

Heating a cold room in Bicester this winter

Most of our Bicester work is a single room: a back bedroom that never quite warms up, a conservatory that is unusable from October to March, or a spare room turned home office. A wall-mounted Haier unit sits high on the wall, runs almost silently and heats the room in minutes, then holds it at a steady temperature rather than swinging hot and cold. It is controlled from a simple remote or the Haier app on your phone, and the same unit cools the room next summer.

It works especially well in bungalows, where warmth from the main heating tends to stay in the middle of the house, and in the older streets around the town centre where some rooms are hard to heat. A typical single-room install is a tidy one-day job, and we explain everything before we start.

If you want more than one room, a multi-split system runs up to five indoor units from a single outdoor unit, so you don’t end up with several boxes on the outside wall. Our calculator prices one room or several.

Air conditioning servicing in Bicester

We service Haier systems and most other air conditioning brands across Bicester and the surrounding villages, including systems someone else fitted. An annual service cleans the filters and coils, checks the refrigerant gas and electrical connections and keeps the manufacturer’s warranty valid — it also keeps running costs down and stops the musty smell a neglected unit can develop. Servicing starts from £230 for a single indoor unit. See our servicing options.

Air-to-air heat pumps in Bicester

The systems we fit are air-to-air heat pumps: they take heat from the outside air and blow it into the room as warm air, using a fraction of the electricity a plug-in heater would. They don’t replace a boiler or connect to your radiators — they heat and cool the rooms they’re fitted in. That makes them a straightforward way to warm a cold room or extension without touching the rest of your heating. How heat pumps work explains it in plain English.

Common questions

Do you cover Bicester Village and the surrounding estates?

Yes — we regularly quote and install across Bicester, including the newer developments around Elmsbrook and NW Bicester as well as the older parts of town.

My house is a new-build — will fitting an outdoor unit affect my warranty?

It can, depending on your developer and the specific terms. Some warranties restrict external wall fixings for a set period. Check your documents first; ground-mounted outdoor unit placement is often a straightforward alternative.

How quickly can you get to Bicester for a survey?

We're based in Buckingham, around 14 miles away, so Bicester is well within our normal coverage area — typically a 25-minute drive for a free survey.

Which villages and postcodes around Bicester do you cover?

We cover Bicester and the surrounding OX25, OX26 and OX27 postcode districts, including Launton, Chesterton, Ambrosden, Arncott, Blackthorn, Wendlebury, Piddington. We travel anywhere within about an hour of our Buckingham base (MK18), so if your village isn’t named on this page, send us your postcode and we’ll confirm.

Does air conditioning really heat a room in winter?

Yes. Every Haier system we fit is a reversible heat pump, so it heats as well as cools. It warms a room in minutes and uses far less electricity than a plug-in heater, which is why many of our Bicester customers use it more in winter than in summer.

Is the £1,195 offer available in Bicester?

Yes, the limited-time offer covers Bicester and the villages around it. It applies to a single room where the outdoor unit can go on the other side of the same wall, with a pipe run up to 5m and no condensate pump, one per household. A free survey confirms it before anything is booked.
