Haier 2.5kW heat pump in a Bicester bedroom

A single-bedroom install in Bicester on our £1,195 limited-time back-to-back offer. The indoor unit sits high on the wall above the bed, and the outdoor unit stands on mounting feet directly outside, on the other side of the same wall, so the pipe run is short and neat. The system cools on warm nights and heats the room in winter.

The install, start to finish

50 seconds: unboxing, coring the wall, flaring the pipework, pressure and leak testing, then testing cooling and heating through the Haier app.

How we fitted it

  1. Survey. We confirmed the room suited a 2.5kW unit and that the outdoor unit could go directly behind it, which is what qualifies for the back-to-back offer.
  2. Indoor unit. Mounting plate fixed high on the bedroom wall and a core drilled straight through for the pipework, cable and condensate drain.
  3. Pipework. Copper pipes flared and connected, insulated, and run through the wall to the outdoor unit.
  4. Outdoor unit. Set on anti-vibration mounting feet on the gravel outside.
  5. Nitrogen pressure test. The pipework was filled with oxygen-free nitrogen and held at about 10.4 bar for 10 minutes on a digital gauge, with only a 0.04 bar change, before any refrigerant was released.
  6. Vacuum. The system was pulled into a deep vacuum to remove air and moisture.
  7. Commissioning. Refrigerant released, then cooling and heating both tested from the Haier app, with the air temperature from the unit checked on a thermometer.
